MWC researcher explains COVID-19 origins

Dr Jemma Geoghegan, MWC researcher and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Otago, has given expert COVID-19 commentary that has been picked up by media in New Zealand and internationally.
Dr Geoghegan (pictured), an evolutionary biologist and virologist with a strong focus on emerging infectious disease, has given interviews with several news outlets in New Zealand and in Australia since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. In particular, she has provided valuable context regarding the pandemic's origin and why we can't predict the next one.
