2023 QMB-MWC High-school teacher Scholarships OPEN
After three years with no teacher scholarships, we are thrilled to bring back QRW-Maurice Wilkins Centre biology teacher development scholarships for 28–30 August 2023, Queenstown.

QRW and The Maurice Wilkins Centre are pleased to offer three scholarships for high-school biology teachers to attend the Queenstown Molecular Biology science conference to be held from the 28th – 30th August 2023 at the Rydges Hotel, Queenstown, New Zealand.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide New Zealand’s Science teachers with:
- Exposure to cutting edge research from National and International Scientists
- Links with some of New Zealand’s leading researchers
- Links with providers of scientific equipment and supplies
- Links with top science teachers from around New Zealand.
The Queenstown Molecular Biology (QMB) is a conference everyone can learn from. This year, the meeting will be a 2-day general science meeting (Tue 29 Aug and Wed 30 Aug), with specialist satellite meetings during the week (check the website for more details).
The event begins Monday night (28 Aug) with a lecture by Professor David Julius, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Queenstown Research Week 2023 focuses on Nanotechnology – Applications in Health, Agriculture and beyond.
Scholarships cover travel, accommodation, registration, and conference dinner. Scholarships will not cover school relief costs.
Send your 1 page resume and a short cover letter including the name/phone of one referee to Prof. Justin M. O’Sullivan (justin.osullivan@auckland.ac.nz) by 6 June. Three scholarships are available.
